    Responsibilities

    The Iron Mountain Sales Engineer will support the Iron Mountain sales team to promote the Data Center Services. The Sales Engineer will interface directly with customers/prospects, and will be responsible for presentations, product demonstrations, technical training, technical responses for RFPs and proposals, solution design, and performing evaluations or Proof Of Concepts with customers. Travel is required, and the candidate must have a strong combination of hands-on technical proficiency and persuasive communication skills.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Researches and gains understanding of customer’s technical and business challenges and appropriately positions Iron Mountain to solve these challenges
    • Makes strong technical decisions and completes tasks & assignments with limited direction
    • Articulates the technology value statements to customers during the pre-sales process
    • Uses knowledge of technology, products, processes, industry expertise, and leverages the sales skills of the team to educate customers on value of Iron Mountain’s services
    • Identifies obstacles to the sales process and/or problems that need further investigation
    • Builds and maintain relationships with the customer
    • Creatively builds solutions that can meet or exceed customer’s requirements
    • Must be able to patiently work with the Sales Channels to help create strong SOWs and pricing schema’s as required.
    • Is the go to subject matter expert for sales team
    • Supports the sales team for RFP processes and to provides detailed design and layout for the customer. 

    Qualifications

     

    • Five (5)+ years’ experience in detailed specific experience in the product or area of expertise and sales support/sales engineer experience.
    • Deep knowledge of various data center hall solutions to support customer’s colocation infrastructure
    • Data Center Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
    • Presentation to technical and ‘C level’ audiences
    • Ability to influence others to achieve results
    • Creative problem solving
    • Adept at consultative, or ‘trusted advisor’ role
    • Knowledge of server, network, and storage infrastructure required to support large scale primary, backup, archive, and DR solutions
    • Ability to work as part of a virtual team globally
