    Iron Mountain is looking for a Research Assistant & PAC Coordinator to assist its growing Government Affairs function in Washington, D.C. This person will report to the Vice President, Government Affairs.



    • Assist the Government Affairs team with managing the office including managing vendors for supplies and subscriptions, liaison with property manager, planning and arranging for internal and external meetings and conference calls.
    • Coordinate CEO and other executive visits with elected officials and policymakers in Washington, DC and around the country and preparing related briefing books.
    • Liaison to Congressional offices and Executive branch agencies.
    • Monitor and track legislation and related Congressional hearings and votes on a variety of legislative issues.
    • Coordinate activities for the Iron Mountain Employees Political Action Committee (PAC), including solicitations, budget, and attendance at candidate events.
    • Create content for internal and external communications including social media posts, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters, fact sheets and PAC solicitation materials.
    • Monitor the campaigns of candidates supported by the PAC and provide regular updates to the PAC Board of Directors
    • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: must have very strong oral and written communication and relationship building skills to effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders. Writing sample required
    • Time Management & Problem Solving Skills: must have very strong time management skills to juggle competing priorities and the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
    • Federal and State Ethics and Lobbying Compliance: This position requires basic awareness and knowledge of Federal Election Commission and certain state rules regarding lobbying and fundraising disclosure requirements.
    • Passion for Politics & Policy: must be interested in the legislative, rulemaking and political process; current issue areas include tax, cybersecurity, data privacy and federal procurement


    • Bachelor’s Degree required- Communications, Political Science or Business Degree preferred
    • 2 - 5 years of experience in State or Federal legislatures, campaign activity, event planning, advocacy, or political communications; work in the private sector or large organizations a plus
    • Position is located in Washington, D.C.
    • References required; salary commensurate with experience
