    • Set Standard for Physical Network Design for all IMDC (Global)
    • Design and manage the Data Center Physical Network Layout - to include Structured Cabling, Wireless Systems, Access Control, and Security (Global)
    • Manage and audit drawings in multiple formats, including Revit, Visio, and AutoCAD, of the Physical Network Topography of each Data Center from curb-line to carrier room
    • Coordinate designs with other disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, Interior Design, Plumbing, Civil, and Landscape
    • As Iron Mountain brings on new facilities, work with the M&A team to bring the facilities up to Iron Mountain standards. Evaluate existing infrastructure and propose new solutions to future-proof new infrastructure (Global)
    • Manage all tasks and interface with consultants associated with getting carriers into a facility (Global)
    • Perform tasks as Lead Design Engineer for the Engineering Team (Global)
      • Design fiber duct banks from street to carrier rooms
      • Design pathways within building for all fiber, copper, and low voltage systems
      • Determination of size, location, electrical loads, cooling loads for carrier rooms, meet me rooms, and IDFs. This includes rack layout.
      • Design low voltage and fiber installations to support IMDC (CSG and IMDC networks) and carrier fiber to IDFs in data halls. Develop RFPs for these installations and project manage installations
      • Design, procurement, and project management of all communications hardware necessary for IT systems associated with new builds
      • Design, procurement, and project management of all VOIP phone installations
      • Design, procurement, and project management of all audio visual installations
      • Design, procurement, and project management of all cellular solutions within a facility
      • Design, procurement, and project management of all wireless solutions within a facility
    • Design and plan structured cabling systems for multi-tenant Data Centers to support Corporate, Facilities, ISP (to the client) and Security Networks (Global)
    • Coordinate designs with the Facilities team to provide interconnectivity to the Power, Cooling, and Security systems
    • Provide project management associated with increasing fiber capacity to carrier rooms for existing Data Centers (Global)
    • Monitor, supervise and assure quality control on all New Network Infrastructure Builds (Global)
    • Be the SME in all areas of Physical Network Design and Installation best practices (Global)
    • Develop standards for Data Center cabling, labeling, and administration (Global)
    • Active Knowledge of :
      • High fiber count Single Mode and Multimode cable systems
      • Fiber backbone cabling for inside and outside plant distribution
      • Fiber and copper systems to the desktop/cage
      • Special circuits: MPLS, Voice, DS0, T-1, DS-3, OCx, ISDN, DSL, Frame Relay, ATM, Access control, VoIP, CCTV
    • Design and build Media Converter solutions to extend carrier circuits to client cages
    • Develop requirements and cabling installation plans compliant with industry standards
    • Develop technical training for Solutions Engineers and Client Project Managers
    • Develop and provide RFQ, RFP, Material Lists, Design Drawings and various other documentation to support installations in the Data Centers (Global)
    • Select, provide requirements, and supervise vendors for installation projects not performed by in-house teams (Global)


    • Experience in telecommunications design, management, and installation. Extensive training and education in fiber optic and copper networks
    • Comprehensive knowledge of OTN, TDM, DWDM, CWDM, and GPON/EPON technologies
    • Working knowledge of Data Center design: Power, Cooling - UPS’s, PDU’s, ATS’s, CRAH’s, CRAC’s, Generators and HVAC systems
    • Advanced working knowledge of Network devices including Switches, Routers, and Firewalls
    • Familiarity with various manufacturers on products that are currently in production
    • Experience in Layer 1/2 Design and Troubleshooting
