    I.    Job Summary:  


    Based in Boyers, Pennsylvania, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing a variety of technical trades and inspections at Iron Mountain’s underground facility in Boyers, PA.  The incumbent will take primary direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and the Maintenance Section Lead in the execution of multiple technical repairs and inspections. The incumbent will be directly responsible to perform and conduct maintenance, service, inspections and repairs and adherence to all safety requirements and regulations.  Works alone or as part of a team repairing,  inspecting or executing preventive maintenance tasks.


    1. Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies. Demonstrate a working knowledge in:
    2. Equipment Operations: Skid Steer Loader, Dump truck, Bucket loader, excavator, jack hammer, platform lifts, forklifts, telescoping lifts, , and rock trencher,
    3. Electrical: Basic knowledge of single phase and three phase systems, working and basic maintenance of generators and operations, UPS systems, HVAC systems (fans, chillers, air handlers, dampers, duct work and layout)  and monitoring/control systems
    4. Alarm Systems: Installation, Repair, Testing and inspection
    5. Security Systems: Installation, Repair, Testing and inspection
    6. Painting: spray and brush and roll
    7. Rigging: Set steel support structure, and equipment with basic knowledge of rigging practices
    8. General carpentry skills -
    9. Dry wall repairs
    10. Plumbing: Steel, PVC and copper pipe; drains and sump pumps; potable water systems both installation and repairs
    11. Masonry: Repair and finish concrete
    12. Repair doors, door hardware and make adjustments as necessary
    13. Ability to use hand and power tools and to work independently
    14. Knowledgeable and use of a computer and electronic testing / monitoring equipment
    15. Utilizes knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or heating and cooling skills in performing assignments.
    16. Operates common hand or power tools.
    17. Repairs and maintains physical structure and assets of the corporation.
    18. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
    19. Supports all facility maintenance standards
    20. Supports and helps maintain a safe and secure working environment in the facilities.
    21. Performs maintenance duties within the facilities (light bulbs, painting, etc.).
    22. Use of a computer (MS Office)
    23. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.


    • Problem Solving:  Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair (under supervision) critical mine infrastructure within the Boyers Underground space.   Supports and helps maintain a safe and secure working environment in the facilities.


    • Nature of Impact: Position is critical to ensuring the underground space is fully compliant with all published safety and environmental regulations and meeting customer SLAs.

    Experience:                 At least 3 years work experience


    Compensation:         Hourly 

    Bonus:                       Hourly IC Bonus Plan


    Job / Physical Requirements/Qualifications:


    Lifting, moving, pushing and pulling equipment (cases, metal containers or boxes) in excess amount of 30 to 40 lbs. 






    Minimal travel (less then 10% a year)

    a)    Able to work overtime as required.

    b)    Must be on call 24/7

    c)    Must have valid driver’s license

    d)    Must be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in areas of specialties.

    e)    Must have an understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.

    f)     Must be willing to be on the first responder team



    Licenses & Certifications Required:  Mine Foremen and CPR /AED certified




    Minimum Education:  High School Diploma


    Preferred Education:  Trade School (Less than 2 years)



    Requirements:        Pass Drug Test
