    The Director, Project Quality and Governance reports to the global leader of Product Engineering (VP, Customer Solutions). S/he serves as the principal leader responsible for all aspects of product quality as it relates to Iron’s Mountains global portfolio of technology enabled products. The individual will also serve as a principal liaison to Product Management and will serve as the process owner for the overall Product Engineering SDLC and its integration into the end to end Product Management lifecycle.


    The candidate will be responsible for establishing quality metrics across all dimensions of the product portfolio and ensure that they are reported on and are aligned to product goals and ensuring excellence in customer experience. The individual will be responsible for the product engineering software quality assurance methodology, platform standards and will provide governance for enforcement of standards across a global portfolio of products. This will require education, influence and establishing a roadmap for establishing global oversight and governance of quality best practices and required outputs.


    The candidate will require strong technical, process, and communication skills to support working closely with the key stakeholders (Product Management and Engineering, BREs, CIO, CTO, Business Executives) to influence requirements, challenges, and both strategic and tactical objectives. Advise, counsel, and educate executive and management teams on their relative importance and financial impact. - Performs other duties as assigned.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Be an engaged, collaborative member of the senior Product Engineering staff

    • Collaborate across Product Engineering, Product Management, IT and vendors to develop annual budgets

    • Ensure successful introduction and adoption of quality assurance methods across the globe

    • Develop quality scorecards and analysis for technology and business leaders

    • Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed

    • Create and analyze relevant information and proactively develop recommendations to improve processes and quality approaches

    • Act as the key liaison across all functional areas for Product Quality related initiatives

    • Establish quality process and technology framework and standards for software quality

    • Possess a broad knowledge of the most relevant quality assurance best practices

    • Establish goals and identify techniques to drive testing automation and performance measurement for product engineering

    • Identify and help evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet needs

    • Partner with key members of the Product Development staff and the Product Management to create strategic business plans.


    • Iron Mountain is seeking a candidate with strong quality and software development experience, who also possesses a track record of driving a technology agenda within a globally dispersed environment. The ideal candidate must be a proven leader demonstrating 15+ years of experience managing complex organizations including accountability for technology solutions, implementations, consensus building, organizational leadership, and technical excellence.

    • The leader must be a recognized expert in quality assurance best practices and testing across a variety of technology platforms and tools. Ideally this would include mobile and cloud-based platforms with a strong emphasis on revenue generating products and commercial implementations.

    • Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information security. Leveraging leading edge technology and software engineering practices, this leader will bring together different disciplines that revolve around quality to establish the vision, strategy and architecture to ensure data can be secured effectively and flexibly.

    • Equally, significant qualifications include strong integrity, a high level of energy, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal relationship skills.

    • Candidates will possess significant technical competence, having progressed through roles of increasing responsibility managing application development, quality, and project management functions.

    • Given the geographic breadth of the organization, the ideal candidates will be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment, driving consensus across diverse groups with unique interests.

    • A bachelor’s degree in a computer-related discipline, or an equivalent contribution of education and experience, is required. A master’s degree is strongly preferred.
