The Legal Research Analyst (LRA) will have primary responsibility for the successful research, publication and maintenance of pertinent research on country specific legal requirements related to information governance, especially in the areas of records retention, data privacy and cross-border transfer. The LRA identifies pertinent requirements from primary and secondary legislation, inputs and tags them according to defined data standards in the Global Research Database, and then publishes the citations for reuse by internal and external stakeholders who develop and maintain retention schedules. The research activity encompasses operational coverage of specific jurisdictions, as well as development and maintenance of industry specific research depending on client needs. The LRA manages the annual maintenance of the full dataset to ensure accuracy, and is responsible to answer users’ questions on these requirements. The LRA is responsible for a specific jurisdiction, but as part of a team and a quality controlled process, he validates research completed by his peers; and may complete research activities in other jurisdictions as needed. Based on his experience, the LRA provides recommendations for improvements of the legal research process, tools and content. As needed, he may provide additional support to the consulting team for the development of retention schedules.  Key Responsibilities:


Legal Research. Conduct effective legal research using provided scope documents and research databases. Organize legal research and input all relevant citations into GRS; Ensure regular maintenance of the data to keep all citations up-to-date and accurate


Analysis and Indexing. Analyze legal requirements and connect them to industry, business functions and specific types of records. Participation in quality assurance and process improvements. Validate and publish research and indexing data produced by peers; make recommendations for improvements.


User support. Provide pertinent responses to users questions on citations and take ownership of all relevant jurisdiction Zen Desk tickets



  • BS / BA degree is preferred

  • Law or paralegal background highly desirable but not required
  • Excellent analytical skills to take large amounts of information and extract and structure pertinent content
  • Excellent English writing skills and a strong command in summarizing information
  • Ability to manage details and make connections
  • Strong IT skills for data input in databases and research in databases
  • Ability to cope with pressure for tight deliveries.
