Responsibilities

The Data Restoration Solutions Program Manager provides knowledgeable solution design, execution and sales support for the Iron Mountain Data Restoration solutions and services set. The position provides this support to sales, marketing, implementation, and operations. The Restoration Program Manager functions as a senior technical consultant, or “subject matter expert” (SME). The Restoration Program Manager provides detailed product support to Data Management Business Development Executive (BDE) and Customer Development Executive (CDE) teams as well as developing specific solutions, assisting in development of sales collateral and product driven marketing campaigns across North America. The Restoration Program Manager is responsible for promoting the Iron Mountain Data Restoration products and services both internally and externally

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop customer solutions based on consultations with sales and the customer utilizing the capabilities of the Iron Mountain Data Restoration solution set. Gain an understanding of the customer’s technical/business challenges and appropriately position the solution to solve these challenges.
  • Promote and provide support for Data Restoration products and services to representatives from sales, account management, operations and other departments as designated to enable customer wins (including creating and delivering sales presentations, developing training collateral, creating marketing campaigns, managing FAQs and other communications tools, etc.)
  • Evaluate current customer practices and recommend enhanced solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise support for response to RFPs.
  • Identify and analyze competitive threats to the product as well as identify partners and industry products that can complement the supported products a part of support to product management
  • Provide specific product expertise for the development of sales tools, programs and training sessions on detailed product demonstrations (including technical customer presentations, developing custom demos for customers, and creating standard demo data)
  • Create, develop and present solutions, proposals and presentations to opportunity leaders and/or prospective customers
  • Represent the Iron Mountain brand internally and in customer meetings, industry seminars and other events.
  • Interact with Iron Mountain's Data Restoration vendor(s) on a global basis while striving to ensure the most appropriate solution for the customer is delivered at the most competitive price from the vendor to Iron Mountain.

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience in the product or area of expertise. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with data and tape storage technology and workflows including but not limited to tape storage management software, tape formats such as Linear Tape Open and enterprise tape, along with workflows for tape libraries. A working knowledge of how data is restored from tape and migrating data off tape into a cloud environment is a plus.
  • Must be an excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to present technical solutions with in-depth understanding of data storage, backup, disaster recovery, and archiving solutions.
  • Must have at least five years of experience in customer-facing technical sales roles.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and work non-standard work hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Solid written, verbal communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to follow through and complete assigned actions.
  • Capable of interfacing well at all levels vertically and laterally within a large organization and client base.
  • Must be highly competent with Windows, Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Must be comfortable speaking/presenting to customers at all levels, representing employer confidently and honestly.
