Joining the IPM sales team the Sales Support Engineer (SSE) provides pre-sales support for Iron Mountain Intellectual Property Management (IPM) Verification services and is responsible for supporting multiple pre sales facets that ultimately result in the team achieving a technical win in sales opportunities.  The SSE acts as a technical consultant and pre sales project specialist to the sales force and, as a member of the sales team, helps ensure a technical fit/skill to qualify business opportunities, create statements of work and handle project management duties while helping develop client confidence in our services.


Job Description/Responsibilities:


  • Be the initial technical liaison for prospect technical personnel during the sales cycle. Work closely with sales personnel to present and demonstrate Iron Mountain IPM services in sales situations to prospect individuals and groups.
  • Act in a consultative capacity with customer technical staff to detail software and hardware requirements for application development and live production implementations that meet their business requirements.
  • Help ensure that Sales revenue is realized by achieving highest levels of Customer Satisfaction as consultant and trusted advisor.
  • Research and follow up on technical issues related to sales opportunities; inform, and share with other departments and customers as appropriate corrective action and open items.
  • Attend scheduled read back calls with customers once the verification report has been distributed, review report and suggest higher level of testing with sales team.
  • Monitor and report to sales team and management on new deposits from open verifications, payment and other outstanding items.
  • Turn quotes from subcontractor into Statements of Work (SOW) for Sales people to present to clients and ensure we are meeting cost and margin guidelines.
  • Work with internal teams or outside vendors to facilitate special projects outside of software testing.
  • Participate in setting the development direction for additional verification service offerings with product marketing and business development. Activities to include recommending enhancements and providing detailed requirements when requested.
  • Attend scheduled meetings with the sales teams and Marketing to provide marketplace insights and plan upcoming strategies. Attend scheduled meetings with the support organization to review current issues.


Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:


  • Excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to present technical solutions in-depth.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles.
  • Must be comfortable speaking to customers at all levels, representing employer confidently and honestly.
  • Use of, Microsoft SharePoint and Office Suite applications.
  • Familiarity with or experience in many of the following areas:
    • Windows Server 2008/2010/2012 or higher
